SPT 145. The Politics of Weapons of Mass Destruction 3-0-3
An examination of the politics of weapons of mass destruction (WMD), including chemical, biological, nuclear, and radiological (CBNR) weapons. The course examines the rationale for acquiring WMD, the different paths by which countries acquire WMD, and the effect of WMD proliferation on global and U.S. politics. The course also considers policy options for preventing WMD proliferation and managing its consequences. Numerous case studies will be employed. CR: SPT 163 or 165, and BCC 100.
