NUR 322I. WI: Professional Nursing Practice - Vulnerable Populations 4-6-6
This course examines nursing care of vulnerable populations. Specific health disparities, many prioritized by Healthy People 2020, will be highlighted and include: mental illness, health risks of older adults, terminal illness, family abuse, lifestyle health threats, and children with medical concerns. Concentration will be placed on application of the nursing process, role of nurse as patient-centered advocate, and use of interdisciplinary resources. Clinical practice hours include acute and chronic mental health, outpatient oncology, and community-based settings. PR: NUR 311, 312, 313, and RHW 102. CR: NUR 321, 323, 324. (Last update: 01/10/19)
