The nursing process will serve as the organizing framework to examine normal pregnancy and the developing child, common complications during pregnancy, delivery, and the postpartum period, and major health concerns in children. Theoretical knowledge, clinical practice, and simulated experience will be integrated to prepare students for the nursing roles of direct caregiver, manager, and advocate of health for the childbearing family.
