Introduction to the essential physiological components, mechanisms and functions of the mammalian immune system, including innate versus acquired immunity, antigen/antibody interactions, B- and T-cell activation, inflammation, tolerance, cytokine signaling, immunity to microbes, immune-based pathology and vaccine strategies.
